Hotel Magdalena is located on South Congress Avenue, affectionately known as SoCo, which is one of Austin’s most iconic and vibrant districts. This lively street is a blend of eclectic boutiques, trendy restaurants, and unique art galleries. We recommend taking a stroll and seeing what you find!
Austin has an eclectic and diverse food scene that's worth checking out. Here are some of our favorite restaurants around Austin:
- BBQ is a sure bet in Texas. Terry Black's, KG BBQ, and Interstellar are solid options, but go early to avoid long lines!
- Bamboo House: a popular Chinese restaurant in central Austin that serves Peking duck and other authentic dishes
- Taqueria 10 de 10: if you're looking for a good late night taco spot, check out this taqueria hidden in an alley downtown.
- Veracruz All Natural: our favorite place for breakfast and lunch tacos!
- Fukumoto: a great dinner spot for Japanese izakaya and sushi
- An Nyeong K Tofu & BBQ: causal Korean restaurant that has some solid soup and bbq options
- Este: Coastal Mexican Seafood that has vibrant and unique flavors
The Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail is one of Austin's most beloved outdoor attractions, offering a scenic 10-mile loop that winds around Lady Bird Lake. You can take a walk or rent a bike, and along the way, you’ll pass through several parks, including Zilker Park and Auditorium Shores.
The Blanton Museum of Art, located on the University of Texas at Austin campus, is the primary art collection in Austin. It's home to over 21,000 works and features everything from European paintings to modern and contemporary art. You can also check out UT Austin's campus while you're there.
Nestled in the heart of Austin, Zilker Botanical Garden is a great place if you're wanting to enjoy some nature and tranquility before the wedding. We love walking through the Japanese Garden and over 28 acres of different trails.
